I focus on the conceptional analysis of this accretive image-making project. This series of photo capture the passing glimpse and raw moments that transitory and oddly hit a memory clip in the past. With artificial light, I am trying to create abstract patterns by stripping these inorganic textures from their original background.

I am focussing on exploring an overlap of obsession and religion. My artistic inspirations for this project include Francisko de Goya, Anish Kapoor and Cindy Sherman. My final piece merges visuals of Christian symbolics, bruising and organic motifs into an abstract outcome.This work is created for public space. I want my art project to encourage reflection on mental health.

I am interested at the way that people interact with art and emotion by visualising idea additionally, fusing different cultures together to enhance visual enjoyment. I pursue ways that could show ambiguity in different ways, which people could have a visual enjoyment of, and leading them to look for an inexistent answer, which just like a dream, is perhaps meaningless, but intriguing. My most recent work is inspired by the concept of Katharina Fritsch work who “plays on the tension between reality and apparition, between the familiar and the surreal or uncanny. “and the strong Elysium feeling on my mind since I was a child because I am always want to escape from reality. Hence, I have a large range of experimentation in methods such as painting, sculpturing, doodling, filming and so on. For this year I am going to focus on sculpture, painting and drawing. To create a work that is dreamlike, fantastic and uncanny which is a legacy from somebody’s dream. During my time at NTIC and working on my portfolio I have been trying to improve my consistency of making, and expand my experience of contemporary art, and additionally develop my ideas and define what I am looking for in this vast universe.

My theme comes from my culture’s politics which is about freedom and traditional customs. I chose this theme because I am really interested in an alternative perspective of it having a deeper and darker side. However, my key message of my work is I want to produce something which has a positive surface, but at the same time questions and challenges the audience. I will show both sides in my artwork and let people thinking about who are right or wrong. My aim in this project is to explore the theme of satire would like my starting points to be with contemporary politics which happening in Hong Kong. I will respond by creating artwork using installation art and could be have a strong visual effect. So, I want my work will try to hanging things with colours and mix with light and pass throw the object and create my own Chinese words is include my culture’s politics. So, I want my work would be special and not only show my work how beautiful. Is about the meaning behind the work.
SARAH MOHAMED ALI HUSSAIN NAGDY

My project is entitled “Human Emotions” with the key themes being explored are emotional connections through atmospheric nature. I have chosen this title as I would like to portray the relationship of human bonds through nature. The emotions that I have considered exploring are happiness, calmness, and sadness. As people grow and develop, we encounter experiences that we can all relate to that make us feel a certain way. I plan to show these emotions by creating paintings of natural sights from different climates, such as desert, sky and sea that are able to convey the atmosphere of landscape through experimental techniques and art styles. I also took different colour palettes to account as colour combinations cause certain effects.
